Neuropeptide S Antibodies

Neuropeptide S (NPS) is a 20-amino-acid peptide derived from a larger precursor protein. A comparison of the amino acid sequences of NPS has revealed that the peptide has been well conserved throughout evolution. Central administration of NPS was found to promote arousal and hyperlocomotion in mice and is able to suppress all stages of sleep in rats.
