P2Y Receptor Antibodies

P2Y receptors are one of three families of extracellular receptors for purine and pyrimidine nucleotides involved in purinergic signalling. Adenosine receptors (Previously P1) and the P2X receptors are classified as separately families. The division of P2 nucleotide receptors into two families - a P2X ion channel family and a P2Y G protein-coupled receptor family has been generally adopted with growing numbers of receptors. The mammalian P2Y receptors include P2Y1, P2Y2, P2Y4, P2Y6, P2Y11, P2Y12, P2Y13 and P2Y14 receptors. There is much uncertainty about the human p2y5 receptor. Clinically used drugs acting on these receptors include the P2Y12 receptor antagonists prasugrel, ticagrelor and cangrelor, all approved as antiplatelet drugs.
