Immuno-Grade Chemokine Receptor 4 Antibodies
The CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) is the specific receptor for the chemokine CXCL12. The CXCR4 antagonist plerixafor (AMD3100, Mozobil) is an immunostimulant used to mobilize hematopoietic stem cells in cancer patients. CXCR4 plays an essential role for embryonic development of various organ systems, e.g. regulation of interneuron migration during cortical development. The CXCR4 receptor is also abundantly localized at the plasma membrane of a variety of normal cells and tissues including immune cells and cells in the zona fasciculata of the adrenal cortex. CXCR4 is highly expressed in many tumors including mammary, pancreatic, prostate, cervical and ovarian carcinomas.
