Serine425 (S425) is major phosphorylation site of the Cannabinoid Receptor 1 (CB1). The pS425-CB1 antibody detects phosphorylation in response to agonists. S425 phosphorylation is likely to be involved in efficient ligand sequestration by CB1. The pS425-CB1 antibody can detect phosphorylated CB1 in mouse brain in vivo.

Figure 1. Immunohistochemical Identification of Agonist-induced Serine425 phosphorylation of the Cannabinoid Receptor 1 in mouse brain. Mice were either injected intraperitoneally with vehicle or specific CB1 agonist CP-55940 (0,75 mg/kg bodyweight) for 30 min. Animals were then transcardially perfused, fixed and stained in presence of phosphatase and protease inhibitors. Shown are confocal images of coronal sections stained with the anti-pS425-CB1 antibody (7TM0056A-IC).
