The BB3 receptor antibody is directed against the distal end of the carboxyl-terminal tail of human Bombesin Receptor 3. It can be used to detect BB3 in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections by immunohistochemistry. It can be used to detect total BB3 receptors in Western blots independent of phosphorylation. The BB3 antibody can also be used to isolate and enrich BB3 receptors from cell and tissue lysates.

Figure 1. Validation of the Bombesin Receptor 3 in transfected HEK293 cells. Native HEK293 cells (MOCK) or HEK293 cells stably expressing the Bombesin Receptor 3 (BB3) were lysed and immunoblotted with the anti-BB3 antibody (7TM0040N) at a dilution of 1:1000.

Figure 2. Immunohistochemical identification of Bombesin receptor 3 in human ovarian carcinoma. Sections were dewaxed, microwaved in citric acid, and incubated with anti-BB3 (Bombesin receptor 3) antibody (7TM0040N) at a dilution of 1:100. Sections were then sequentially treated with biotinylated anti-rabbit IgG and avidin-biotin solution. Sections were then developed in 3,3-diaminobenzidine (DAB)-glucose oxidase and lightly counterstained with hematoxylin. Note, BB3 receptors were detected at the plasma membrane of nearly all cells in human ovarian carcinoma.
