Serine425 (S425) is major phosphorylation site of the Cannabinoid Receptor 1 (CB1). The pS425-CB1 antibody detects phosphorylation in response to agonists. S425 phosphorylation is likely to be involved in efficient ligand sequestration by CB1.

Figure 1. Agonist-induced Serine425 phosphorylation of the Cannabinoid Receptor 1. Upper panel, HEK293 cells stably expressing the CB1-Receptor (CB1) were either not exposed or exposed to 10 µM of CB1-Receptor agonists CP55940 for 30 minutes. Cells were lysed and immunoblotted with the anti-pS425-CB1 antibody (7TM0056A) at a dilution of 1:1000. Lower panel, blot was stripped and reprobed with an phosphorylation-independent anti-CB1 antibody to confirm equal loading of the gel.
