Threonine340 (T340) is a major phosphorylation site of the GAL1 receptor. The pT340-GAL1 antibody detects phosphorylation in response to high-efficacy agonists. T340 phosphorylation is a key regulator of GAL1 desensitization, β-arrestin recruitment and internalization.

Figure 1. Agonist-induced Threonine340 phosphorylation of GAL1 Receptor. Upper panel, HEK293 cells stably expressing the GAL1-Receptor (GAL1) were either not exposed or exposed to 1 µM of specific GAL-Receptor agonist Galanin for 30 minutes. Cells were lysed and immunoblotted with the anti-pT340-GAL1 antibody (7TM0243A) at a dilution of 1:1000. Lower panel, blot was stripped and reprobed with the phosphorylation-independent anti-GAL1 antibody (7TM0243N) at a dilution of 1:1000 to confirm equal loading of the gel.
