The BB2/GRPR receptor antibody is directed against the distal end of the carboxyl-terminal tail of human Bombesin Receptor 2 (previously called Gastrin-Releasing Peptide Receptor). It can be used to detect total BB2 receptors in Western blots independent of phosphorylation. The BB2 antibody can also be used to isolate and enrich BB2 receptors from cell and tissue lysates. It also detects BB2/GRPR in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections by immunohistochemistry.

Figure 1. Immunohistochemical identification of Bombesin Receptor 2/Gastrin-Relasing Peptide Receptor (BB2/GRPR) in human breast carcinoma. Sections were dewaxed, microwaved in citric acid, and incubated with anti-BB2/GRPR (Bombesin Receptor 2/Gastrin-Relasing Peptide Receptor) antibody (7TM0039N-IC) at a dilution of 1:100. Sections were then sequentially treated with biotinylated anti-rabbit IgG and avidin-biotin solution. Sections were then developed in 3,3-diaminobenzidine (DAB)-glucose oxidase and lightly counterstained with hematoxylin. Note, BB2/GRPR receptors were detected at the plasma membrane of nearly all cells in human breast carcinoma.

Figure 3. Validation of the Bombesin Receptor 2 in transfected HEK293 cells. Native HEK293 cells (MOCK) or HEK293 cells stably expressing the Bombesin Receptor 2 (BB2) were lysed and immunoblotted with the anti-BB2 antibody (7TM0039N) at a dilution of 1:1000.
